Becoming and ceasing to be a member of The Resurgam Trust
Applications for membership
The first member of the Company shall be the Subscriber to the Memorandum of Association.
The Directors may admit to membership any person, association, society, company or other corporate body interested in promoting the objects of the Company. There shall be three classes of membership of the Company as follows:
a. Individual members
Any person aged eighteen years or over living within the area of benefit and who subscribes to the objects of the Company whose application for membership is approved by the Directors, and shall be entitled to vote at all meetings.
b. Affiliate members
Any organisation active within the area of benefit, whether voluntary or statutory, which subscribes to the objects of the Company and whose application for Affiliate membership is approved by the Directors. Affiliated members have the right to attend and speak at General Meetings of the Company and are entitled to vote.
c. Associate members
Any well-wisher or person who, in the opinion of the Directors, has special knowledge or experience to offer the Company and whose application for Associate membership is approved by the Directors.
Associate members have the right to attend and speak at General Meetings of the Company but are not entitled to vote.
Termination of membership
- A member may withdraw from the membership of the company by giving 7 days’ notice to the company in writing.
- Membership is not transferable.
- A person’s membership terminates when that person dies or ceases to exist.
- Any member who fails to attend three consecutive meetings without reasonable excuse shall lose their membership.
All new members, groups and individuals must be nominated by a current member of the Resurgam Community Development Trust and membership approved by the Board.
