Premier Taxis raise nearly £5,000 for charity

The staff at Premier Taxi Company came together recently to look at organising a small fundraising event which would also assist in lifting the participants spirits due to the current situation (Covid- 19) we all find ourselves in. Despite the time of year, they decided to climb the highest of the Mourne Mountains which is Slieve Donard (850m / 2,789ft in height).

Very quickly numerous individuals put themselves forward for this charity fundraising event which made the event a great deal bigger than was anticipated. Each team member took a sponsorship form to raise their own individual contributions. On the morning of Sunday 29th November all participants set off from Donard carpark in a socially distanced manner and ascended to the peak of Slieve Donard. Within a few hours all were safely up and down from the summit.

Neil Fyfe one of the main organisers of the event said “I would just like to thank everyone who either took part on the day or indeed sponsored one of the participants. We are all delighted with the overall figure raised which we know will go towards assisting many people within our community”

The total raised was the fantastic amount of £4,920! The participants from the outset wanted all funds raised to be split 50/50 between Friends of the Cancer Centre and The Resurgam Trust therefore each Charity will receive £2,460.
