Adrian has worked in the Third Sector, within community regeneration for over 20 years. He was a founding member of Resurgam’s six social enterprise companies and also chairs Lisburn PSP an organisation that is rooted in community safety and transformation.
With his experience in navigating organisations and groups through regeneration he has now progressed into a process of developing this model to roll out for other communities via the Community Academy. He has built relationships with key stakeholders in the Third Sector, Local and Central Government and is aware of the opportunities within these arenas in terms of gaps and the needs to be addressed.
In the limited spare time that he does have he enjoys travelling, cooking, following motocross and spending time with his grandchildren.
Denis Paisley is the Regeneration Manager for The Resurgam Community Development Trust which advocates on behalf of Resurgam’s 32 member groups to deliver long term benefits within community. Denis is a Director of Laganview Enterprise Centre and Lisburn Community Self Build and sits on the committee of Old Warren Community Association. He is a community representative on Lisburn Surestart and Early Intervention Lisburn and oversees local interventions within community, especially under-represented groups. He and has a professional experience spanning over twenty years which includes Youth and Community Work and Sustainable Investment, both accredited at University of Ulster.
Social Economy Business Manager
Jason has been the Social Economy Business Manager with Resurgam Community Development Trust for over 10 years now and has worked within the social economy business sector for over 20 years. Jason mentors and manages the existing management structures across all Resurgam’s Social Enterprises. He is also a volunteer director of 3 further SE businesses.
Administration and Finance Officer
Sharon has worked within the Community and Voluntary sector for over the past 20 years shes a founding member and director of our New Horizons Credit Union. Sharon also plays an active part in the County Antrim Zone of the Ulster Federation of Credit Unions. In her day job, she manages the administration and finances of a number of Resurgam’s key projects and initiatives. Sharon is also very involved in organising a number of our annual key events which includes a great deal of fundraising for other charities. In her spare time, she enjoys watching football and cheering on her son Jordan who plays in the Irish League
Social Proscribing Co-ordinator
Nichola joined the Resurgam Healthy Living Centre in 2019 as the Social Prescribing Coordinator. Nichola has worked within community development and health for over 10 years with experience in mental health, men’s health, and brain injury supporting people while working and living in Northern Ireland and in Australia. Nichola is passionate about supporting people to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing using a holistic person-centred approach and is currently completing a degree in Community Development with the University of Ulster. Nichola delivers the SPRING Social Prescribing model in the Lisburn and Poleglass areas while coordinating the delivery across the South East Trust area with colleagues in the Healthy Living Centres in the SE and regionally.
Healthy Living Adviser
Jodie has been part of the Resurgam journey most of her life and has actively participated in youth and women’s groups before taking up the role of coordinator for their EU’s PEACE IV Programme which was managed by the SEUPB in January 2018 . Jodie is actively involved in the local community including the PTA of the local primary and post primary schools and local community association. Jodie is now employed as the first ever post of Resurgam’s Healthy Living Centre Adviser based in our Healthy Living Centre. Jodie is the lead for the safefood funded Community Food Initiative since 2020 which has allowed Jodie to develop her skills in teaching and supporting children, young people and families to develop cooking skills and make it easier to eat more healthily on a budget . Jodie also supports the delivery of the SPRING social prescribing project which enables Jodie to progress her interest in supporting women, families and older people connecting them to services and support in the community. Jodie is currently developing her knowledge in the areas of sexual health and holistic therapies connecting with services to add to the support we can provide in the Healthy Living Centre.
Healthy Living Manager
Gillian has worked in the field of health promotion, health improvement and public health for over 20 years. Having spent the majority of her professional career working in the NHS in Scotland Gillian returned to Northern Ireland to focus on community health improvement with a specific focus on health inequalities and addressing the social determinants of health. Gillian commenced working for Resurgam in 2013.
At present Gillian manages the Resurgam Healthy Living Centre which officially opened its doors in 2017 and is one of 28 Healthy Living Centres across NI. Gillian is also the community representative of the Lisburn Integrated Care Partnership one of 17 ICP across NI and she took up the role of Chair of the Lisburn ICP in 2020.
Angela joined the Resurgam Trust in November 2015, she is responsible for the administration of a number of areas within the Trust which includes Resurgam Youth Initiative, Resurgam Healthy Living Centre and Early Intervention Lisburn. Amongst other elements Angela is also trained in First Aid, Child Protection and Health and Safety.
Youth Participation and Engagement Officer
Carris joined Resurgam in October 2020 as the Youth Participation and Engagement Officer and is leading on a Lisburn-based mental health youth committee called Connected Minds Lisburn. Carris has a passion for mental health, especially with young people within our community, and wants to make positive change throughout her career, while also bringing a bit of fun to her interactions with the youth people.
Carris has also been a Youth Support Officer with the Resurgam Youth Initiative since 2018, and this is where her passion and love for working with young people began.
Lisa joined the Resurgam Trust in January 2021 as the administrator for Early Intervention Lisburn, Connected Minds Mental Health and Wellbeing project. Lisa is passionate about mental health and about making a difference for children and young people in Lisburn. She previously worked for Lisburn Surestart where she built strong alliances with partners across the community, voluntary and statutory agencies. Lisa is also a qualified swimming instructor for babies and toddlers and provides aqua natal yoga for pregnant women from 16 weeks.
